Summary: a hotel maid accuses an Italian diplomat of rape, but then doubt arises about her believability. Meanwhile, Atlanta detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) joins the squad as Detective Benson struggles to cope with the fall-out from the shooting in the precinct.

Ron Rifkin, who portrays the character of Attorney Marvin Exley, portrayed another attorney, D.A. Ellis Loew in L.A. Confidential, which also featured a police officer character named Edmond Exley (Guy Pearce).
When Rollins introduces herself to Benson, Benson asks if she was the transfer from Dallas, but Rollins quickly corrects her as being transferred from Atlanta. Dallas is a reference to the setting of Kelli Giddish's (Rollins) previously aired show, Chase, whereas Atlanta is a nod to her actual origins in Georgia.
