Summary: Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) try to unravel a deadly mystery after an elderly woman dies in a fire and bequeaths some of her estate to a young woman who is subsequently murdered. Soon their investigation turns to a shady state public administrator (guest star Dennis Christopher, "Breaking Away") who has re-invented the concept of "grave-robbing." Goren discovers the suspect's weakness for expensive collector cars, but to make the case succeed in court, he might also need to exploit his quarry's personal relationships. Paul Dooley ("Breaking Away," "Sixteen Candles") reunites with Christopher as the two guest stars rekindle their former film roles as father and son. Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B. Vance also star.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: In the last 5 minutes of the show the dad is getting ready to leave the interrogation room and puts his hand on the wall between the window and the door to steady himself. The Genius points this out and after the camera changes angles the dad's hand has moved to next to the window.

This is the third time that Paul Dooley and 'Dennis Christopher' have played father and son. The two previous times were in movies: Liam and Hughie Brenner in "A Wedding" (1978), and Raymond and Dave Stoller in Breaking Away (1979).
