Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (factual errors): On Michael Knight's driver's "new" driver's license, he is listed as being 5'6 with brown hair, brown eyes. In real life, the Hoff has blue eyes and is app. 6'4 - which would mean, by comparison, everyone else in the show would be really, really short.
- Goof (revealing mistake): Obvious stunt driver during the demolition derby, when KITT is driving on two wheels.
- Goof (revealing mistake): When K.I.T.T. is emitting smoke during the demolition derby, the "KNIGHT" license plate can been seen in mirrored view (the scene is apparently flipped left-to-right).
- Goof (continuity error): When Micheal is pulled over for sleeping while driving, K.I.T.T., is a different car with stock Trans-Am tail lights and a Blue with White lettering Nevada license plate.
- Goof (revealing mistake): During the demolition derby, KITT can be seen several times having a normal round steering wheel.
Trivia
- The running gag of the two car thieves trying to steal K.I.T.T. was written, shot and inserted after the first cut of the pilot was seven minutes too short
- "Knight Rider: Knight of the Phoenix," Originally aired on NBC in 1982 as a two-hour TV movie. The two-hour pilot was later split in to two parts for syndication and the second half of the pilot was retitled "Knight Rider: Knight of the Phoenix, Part II."
- Lance LeGault and Charles Napier both appeared on The A-Team; LeGault starred as Colonel Roderick Decker, and Napier replaced him for one episode as Colonel Briggs.
