Darkseid: Still alive. You impress me, Kryptonian. More, your valor has touched my heart. Oh yes, there is still some small part of me that knows mercy. I will end your pain with something special I've been saving for just this occasion.
Darkseid: I'm going to carve out your heart and put it on a pike in my throne room.
Lex Luthor: As much as I'd enjoy seeing that, first you got some business with me.
Lex Luthor: Sorry it took me so long, I had to go get my power suit.
Darkseid: You dare challenge me? Insanity.
Lex Luthor: Oh, I'm not here to challenge you, Darkseid. Quite the contrary. I've got something you want.
Lex Luthor: The only thing you want.
Darkseid: The Anti-Life Equation...
Lex Luthor: My gift to you.
Superman: Lex, don't!
Batman: [Bholds Superman back] It's too late!
Darkseid: It's beautiful, isn't it?
Lex Luthor: Yes... yes, it is.

Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (continuity error): Darkseid's henchmen were interrupted from their personal battle at the end of "Alive!", but they were not summoned into the battle, which would have made sense since otherwise there seems to be no point that they were readied to do so.
- Goof (continuity error): Orion and S.T.R.I.P.E. were last seen at Luthor's Society after they showed up at the end of "Alive!", whose ending this immediately picks up from with nobody having been able to change position, but here cannot be seen among CGreen Lantern, Batman, Atom-Smasher, Captain Atom, Superman, Red Tornado, and Dr. Fate; S.T.R.I.P.E. is first shown in another part of the Watchtower as Patrick Dugan preparing his armor which he wore earlier while Orion is not seen again until the end, running down the stairs in the all-character cameo chase.
Trivia
- Among the Source Wall faces is that of a Marvel Comics character created by Jack Kirby, who created the New Gods and Darkseid: Galactus.
- Commander Steel saves Shayera by picking up a Parademon's shield and throwing it spinning through the air, in a nod to Marvel Comics' Captain America, whom he resembles. Before this, Shayera's wing is impaled by a Parademon's spear, resembling how Angel (another Marvel hero) had his wings originally crippled.
- In the final scene with the League running down the stairs in pursuit of the Legion of Doom, the heroes passing are grouped into specific tributes to various generations of DC Comics characters. The first group made up of Hawk and Dove, Question, Creeper, and Captain Atom are all creations of writer/artist Steve Ditko. The second group made up of Stargirl and STRIPE, Crimson Avenger, Shining Knight, and Vigilante are all members of the Seven Soldiers of Victory. The third group which contains Hourman, Doctor Midnite, Wildcat, and Doctor Fate are all members of the Justice Society of America. The fourth group which had Vixen, Steel, Vibe, and Gypsy are all members of the League from the "Detroit" era. The fifth group of Booster Gold, Elongated Man, Fire, and Ice hail from the Justice League International. The sixth group which contains Zatanna, Red Tornado, Black Canary, and Green Arrow are all part of the League's "Satellite" Era that was written by Keith Giffen in the 1980s. Following them are the core Justice Leaguers "Big 7": Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Martian Manhunter. The last of these shown are DC Comics' greatest characters, Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman. Furthermore, Batman is the last character shown, who was the first character featured in the Bruce W. Timm/Paul Dini TV superhero franchise as a tribute to close it out. This also results in his being both the first and last Justice League member shown in the show.
- In-joke: Batman tells Superman, "Don't you have a tall building to go leap?" In the original Superman cartoons, Superman was described by the narrator as being able to "leap tall buildings in a single bound."
- The scene where Darkseid lifts Superman up and smashes Superman over his knee is modeled after a scene in the "Knightfall" comics saga where the supervillian Bane broke Batman's back with the same type of attack.
