Summary: In 1781, while recovering from an illness in Holland, Adams is informed of Cornwallis's surrender to Washington and is eventually reunited with Abigail in Paris. Later, Adams meets King George III while serving as ambassador to England, finally returns home to Boston and his now-grown children, and considers a position in the new government.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FACT: John met Abigail in London, but the series depicts Abigail meeting John at their home in France.
CONT: When Mrs Adams joins her husband in France, she arrives at his residence with a pony and trap. As she rises from her seat she is holding a small bag in her right hand. A second later as she steps down from the carriage, her hands are empty.
FACT: Abigail traveled to France with her daughter Nabby, not alone as shown here.
FACT: During President George Washington's inauguration he is shown wearing a black suit, as is commonly depicted in portraits. However, Washington actually wore a brown suit during his first inauguration.

TRIVIA

Following the cost-saving tradition of both Titanic (1997) and Evan Almighty (2007), the ship (dockside scene) was fully detailed only on her starboard side; the port side was left rough.
