Episode Quotes

Jake Green: Did you ask Mom?
Johnston Green: Son, I'm 59 years old, I was mayor of this town since the Carter administration, I'm a retired US Army Ranger, and a combat veteran. Of course I asked your mother.
Johnston Green: I'm gonna need a hobby.
Heather Lisinski: I shouldn't have sprung this on you. This is too weird.
Jake Green: What? What's weird?
Heather Lisinski: [pause] Okay. [awkward chuckle] I kissed you. A month ago. And we haven't spoken since. Generally people speak after something like that.
Johnston Green: I'm just gonna... you know... [turns sharply and walks away]

Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (crew or equipment visible): When getting in the car fleeing the market, the camera and crew can be clearly seen behind Heather.
  • Goof (factual errors): When Johnston Green tells Jake that he is 59 years old and was the mayor (earlier stated 25 years in the position) and then a retired Ranger with combat time (20 years in military to retire) he would have had been 14 when he entered the military.

Trivia

  • Morse Code during the opening title says: Bleeding KS [or Bleeding Kansas]
  • There's a map in Black Jack Fairground where you can see the six cities which claim to be the new capital of the United States after the destruction of Washington D.C. These cities are Sacramento (California), Cheyenne (Wyoming), San Antonio (Texas), Montgomery (Alabama), Syracuse (New York) and Columbus (Ohio). The fact that Columbus is one of the capital cities is important because it was the city where Robert had to deliver his bomb.
