One of the few TV super heroes not derived from a comic book. However, D.C. Comics published a short-lived comic book during the show's second season. 30 years later, DC Comics acquired the rights to the character and created a new version who is a definite part of their regular comics universe, but as the consort of the seemingly reformed supervillain nemesis of Captain Marvel, Black Adam. This character was killed off, but the magic amulet is being used by a new host. As a tribute to the alter-ego of the original TV version of the character, the 2006-2007 comic book version was given the secret identity of Adrianna Tomaz.
