When he asks what's in the envelope, she responds, "Fan mail from some flounder." Her line is taken from a short cartoon sequence used to segue to commercials on "The Bullwinkle Show" (1961-1964). Rocky and Bullwinkle were depicted on a beach, and Rocky would say, "Look Bullwinkle, a message in a bottle," to which Bullwinkle would respond, "Fan mail from some flounder?" Rocky would respond, "No, something really amazing," and hold the "message" toward the camera, at which point the show would cut to a commercial.
