Character Bio
Raphael is Mary's on-again, off-again boyfriend. He's a good guy who also happens to be quite good-looking. Raph plays baseball for a local minor-league team until a winning streak gets him an offer from the Florida Marlins.
Though Mary prefers to keep the relationship solely physical, Raph winds up falling for Mary and proposes. At a loss for how to handle his offer, Mary lets him go off to Florida for spring training without a proper reply. When he returns early with a torn ACL, it is Brandi who becomes his initially unwilling nursemaid and eventual friend, which sends Mary into a minor fit of jealousy.
With Raph's parents coming into town soon, Mary can't decide whether to treat him like a real boyfriend or if letting her guard down will get her hurt again. At some point it may no longer be up to Mary as Raph may be running out of patience.
