Summary: Carly's grandfather makes a surprise visit and is none too thrilled by Spencer's unusual behavior, so he questions his ability to be in charge. Carly must convince him that her brother is up to the task of being her guardian.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: At the beginning of the episode, just before the hammer gets out of the fan, Spencer yells: "All to the floor!" and they all duck, including Freddie. And then, the hammer gets out of the fan. So Freddie didn't have a way to tape when the hammer almost hits Carly. So their grandfather couldn't have known.
FACT: Carly's grandfather states that it has taken him 90 minutes arrive. Later he reveals that he has come from Yakima. The shows location is based in Seattle so on a good day it would have been 2 1/2 hours to make that trip - assuming the trip was uneventful.

TRIVIA

After the initial argument in the beginning of the episode between Spencer and Grandpa Shay (after Carly, Sam and Freddy leave for the Groovy Smoothie), Grandpa Shay tells Spencer that he'll be staying in the nearby "Parker-Nichols Hotel" for the next couple of days. This is a reference to "Drake & Josh" (2004), the TV show in which Miranda Cosgrove played in alongside stars Drake Bell (Drake Parker in the show) and 'Josh Peck' (Josh Nichols in the show).
The grandad says he is at the Parker Nichols Hotel. These two names are the last names of the characters in "Drake & Josh" (2004), Drake Parker and Josh Nichols.
