  • Goof (continuity error): In episode, "I Dream of Jeannie" (1965) {Jeannie Breaks the Bank (#2.15)}, Jeannie's eyes are dilated after getting an exam. She is unable blink a jewelry shop out of Tony's office, but after saying she can't blink, she does.
  • Goof (continuity error): In the episode "I Dream of Jeannie" (1965) {My Master, the Great Rembrandt (#1.26)}, Jeannie turns Tony's amateur painting into a genuine signed Rembrandt. The Rembrandt signature is seen in closeups but is clearly missing from the painting in wider shots.
  • Goof (errors in geography): Many of the exterior shots of Tony's home or other areas show mountains or hills in the background. Florida is flat as a pancake, especially around Cape Kennedy and Cocoa Beach where the Nelsons are supposed to live.

  • Goof (plot holes): General Stone and Melissa find Tony in an Arabian costume when they visit him at night. As they enter his house, Jeannie blinks his clothes back to normal, but the others don't seem to notice that his entire outfit changed in an instant while their backs were turned. They make no mention of it.

  • Goof (anachronisms): When Tony is speaking with Jeannie's father, a woman says "May Allah bless you". Allah is the god of Islam. However, it has already been established that Jeannie was in the lamp for 2000 years when Tony released her in 1965 AD. This means that Jeannie transported herself and Tony to the year 35 BC in this episode - a full 667 years before Islam was founded in 632 AD.
  • Goof (continuity error): The mountain lion shown jumping at Tony very clearly has a tether tied around its neck. Before Tony takes off for his mission, he tells Jeannie to make sure she does not interfere, he is going to leave her inside her bottle. He holds the bottle and pulls out the stopper and commands her to get in. In the next scene he is still holding the bottle but the stopper is back in. He then pulls it out "again", and she smokes in.
  • Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): After extinguishing Jeannie's stove top disaster, Tony never turns the gas burners off.

  • Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Jeannie tells Nelson that she had once met Marco Polo. This would have been impossible since he lived mostly during the end of the 13th century, during the 2,000 year period Jeannie was imprisoned in her bottle.
  • Goof (crew or equipment visible): As Tony chases the "driverless" car around, we see a large building in the background that's a facade backed with scaffolding/framing: classic back lot.
  • Goof (continuity error): Jeannie turns herself into a monkey at the table. When she's throwing fruit at Tony, the bowl is almost empty, but in the next shot it is full. And she is throwing some fruit that you don't ever see that's even in the bowl.
  • Goof (continuity error): In the episode when Jeannie falls ill and takes Tony to Mecca to cure her, in the beginning of the episode, Tony tells her that his car is in the shop and he has to call a cab. But when he's rushing his way home to her, he's driving his car. Then towards the end when he takes her out to dinner, he tells her that he forgot that his car is in the shop and has to call a cab.

  • Goof (continuity error): When Roger Healy comes in and greets Tony Nelson, Jeannie pops in between them and mistakenly says "Hello Captain Healy", referring to Roger as "Captain" after both Roger and Tony had been promoted to "Major" 2 episodes before in "How Lucky Can You Get?"
  • Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The show is premised on the story that before Tony found the bottle on the beach and released Jeannie, she had been imprisoned in her bottle for 2000 years. Yet she made statements in a few shows that belied this "fact." In this episode she refers to her friend "Nossie" (Nostradamus). Nostradamus wasn't born until 1506 (A.D.), about a millennium-and-a-half after Jeannie was imprisoned; he died in 1566, 399 years before she was released by Tony. (Had she been paroled for a time in the 16th Century?)
