I Dream of Jeannie - 01x01 The Lady in the Bottle

Summary: When Astronaut Captain Tony Nelson's missile has a malfunction, they are forced to bring him down. He is stranded on a desserted island where he finds a unique looking bottle. Jeannie appears when he opens it and they are the amusing position of resuing one another: her from a 2000 year captivity in her bottle, and him from the island. Tony is so grateful he gives Jeannie her freedom, but she hides in his parachute and follows him home to Cocoa Beach.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FAKE: Tony's bikini briefs clearly show through his spacesuit in the first scene.
PLOT: General Stone and Melissa find Tony in an Arabian costume when they visit him at night. As they enter his house, Jeannie blinks his clothes back to normal, but the others don't seem to notice that his entire outfit changed in an instant while their backs were turned. They make no mention of it.

TRIVIA

Although it looks like a beautiful sunny day, it was actually very cold on the beach where the desert island scenes were filmed. Indeed, Barbara Eden (I) has been quoted as saying that it was a good thing it was filmed in black and white as her lips were blue.
