Episode Quotes
Ted Mosby: I could be designing concert halls, and bridges. Bridges that could be considered works of art and should be on museums. And I could design those museums. But instead, what am I designing? What has my career led to? A two-story Stetson with outdoor dining on the brim.
Narrator: So there you have it, kids, theres a lot of little reasons why the big things in our lives happen. If I had known then where all those little things were leading me and how grateful I'd be to get there... well, I probably would have done something like this. [Ted goes to every person involved and gives them a hug] Because somehow I ended up at the right place at the right time. And as a result, my life would never be the same.
Barney Stinson: Okay! 200. Now what?
Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (continuity error): When Ted remembers the time they made an intervention about Marshal's graphs, he refers that if happened when Marshal started to work for Goliath National Bank but at that time Ted wasn't yet a independent architect as it was shown. Also, Lily didn't appear in the intervention.
- Goof (continuity error): During Marshall's presentation at the bar, he mentions Barney's 16 years of sexual activity. In "How I Met Your Mother" (2005) {The Yips (#3.10)} Barney mentions losing his virginity at age 23 to Rhonda. This would make Ted 31 while Barney is 39, much older than he is portrayed.
Trivia
- Marshall's Venn diagram with Cecilia at the intersection of the two circles is a reference to the lyrics of the Simon and Garfunkel song, "Cecilia". The opening lines of this song are, "Cecilia, you're breaking my heart / you're shaking my confidence daily..."
- When Marshall presents his pie chart of his favorite bars, the bar that is in second place is called McGee's, the real life New York City bar McClaren's is based on.
- In this episode Robin had food poisoning and Barney and Ted made fun of her saying she's pregnant because she vomited. In real life, the actress, Cobie Smulders who played Robin was actually pregnant at that time.
