Episode Quotes
Dr. Gregory House: It's finally Lupus.
Dr. Gregory House: I need you to bring me the thong of Lisa Cuddy. [applicants stare at him in disbelief] No kidding. Thong. Cuddy. Go! [applicants reluctantly walk away, looking at Foreman as if waiting for approval]
Dr. Eric Foreman: That's how I got hired.
Dr. Eric Foreman: That's how I got hired.
Flynn: A fungus in my lungs? How would I even get something like that?
Dr. Lawrence Kutner: Right now it's just a theory. We don't even know if it's...
Flynn: Gah, I knew I shouldn't have done those mushrooms in college.
Dr. Lawrence Kutner: I'm sure there's no connection.
Flynn: It was a joke. You really lose your sense of humor when your job's on the line, hm?
Dr. Lawrence Kutner: Sorry. Most dying people don't really like to... [Flynn glares at him]... not that you're dying.
Flynn: But a little sick would be perfect, right?

Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (factual errors): Setting off one sprinkler head does not trigger the entire system. Each head has an element that melts to apply water to just the areas that are on fire.
- Goof (factual errors): Foreman explains that the patient had antibodies for blood type A and type B and that the blood banks test for antibodies and that this is why they wrongly deduced the patients' blood type. In fact the blood banks test for both antigens and antibodies, eliminating the possibility for this error. On top of that, a patient with antibodies for both blood types would be shown as having type O.
Trivia
- SPOILER: A running joke of the series is that Lupus is almost always suggested as one of the possible causes of the patient's symptoms, although it is never the culprit (House even remarks that "It's never Lupus"). The reason for this may be that the disease has a wide variety of symptoms and can disguise other medical conditions. The joke is ended in "You Don't Want to Know", when House comments that he finally has a case of Lupus.
