House - 01x22 The Honeymoon
Summary: House is convinced that just because Stacy married someone else, he can handle treating her husband. However, when Mark's tests come back normal, House is stumped as to why all the symptoms show that his brain is still dying. Wilson worries about his friend's emotional well-being and the entire team wonders if he can put his feelings for Stacy aside long enough to find out what's really wrong with Mark. Cuddy ends up adding to the dilemma when she ends up offering Stacy a reason to stay.

Episode Quotes

Dr. Allison Cameron: What happened to "everybody lies"?
Dr. Gregory House: I was lying.
Dr. Eric Foreman: It's not paranoia if someone's out to get you.
Dr. Lisa Cuddy: [Catching up with House in the main lobby] I want to run something by you.
Dr. Gregory House: [loudly] I will not have sex with you! Not again! Miserable, that first time. All that desperate, administrative need...

Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (continuity error): When Mark is having his panic attack a nurse rushes to his bedside. When House and Stacy come out of the elevator seconds later, the same nurse is coming out with them.
  • Goof (continuity error): House collects a urine sample from Mark, and as he pulls out the needle, the syringe is full without any air in it. On the next shot it contains a fairly large pocket of air.
  • Goof (factual errors): House orders a PET scan to study metabolic activity of Mark's brain. When Forman explains the procedure to Mark, he mentions that they are going to use FDDNP, a PET tracer not capable of revealing metabolic activity. Normally, FDG scan is used to visualize metabolic activity.

Trivia

  • SPOILER: Diagnosis: acute intermittent porphyria.
