Summary: Lucy Palermo is a schizophrenic mom with deep vein thrombosis and also displays mixed symptoms, including a tumor, but House realizes her cannot figure out what is wrong with her. After an anonymous call to Social Services, House begins to question whether Lucy is really schizophrenic, and causes her son, Lucas, to blame Dr. House for making the call which will take him away from her. House decides to then take Lucy off all her medication and then secretly sends Foreman and Chase to search her apartment for clues. All of this happens on House's birthday which he is trying to forget, but no one will let him.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: In the first season of House, House lived on the 4th floor of an apartment building. When Cameron comes to House's apartment, the entry is on the farthest right wall. In further seasons his apartment has a first floor external shot. The entry door is on the left wall and the layout is different. In season 5, Wilson mentions to House that he doesn't like change and has lived in the same apartment for 15 years.
CREW: In the elevator at the end you can clearly see an elbow of a 6th person, yet there are only 5 leaving the elevator when they are getting off.
CONT: When Cuddy and House meet in the hall (they talk about his birthday), Cuddy has a pearl necklace around her neck. Minutes later, when Cuddy enters the boys' bathroom to talk with House, she isn't wearing the necklace.
FACT: In this episode, the patient is finally diagnosed with having Wilson's Disease by Foreman's confirmation of a copper-colored ring around her cornea. This ring, called a Kayser-Fleischer Ring, actually presents as a gray-green color.
CREW: When Lucy throws up blood and the camera switches angle you can see the hose behind her.

TRIVIA

Dr. House's birth date in the season two finale is 11 June 1959, the same as that of Hugh Laurie. However, this birth date should be disregarded as it was revealed during House's hallucination. The season one episode, 'The Socratic Method', made several references to House's birth date as being in the winter.
SPOILER: Diagnosis: Wilsons Diesase (causes high copper levels in the body)
Hugh Laurie actually has an English accent, as he is from Oxford, England. In "The Socratic Method" there is a moment where House pretends to have an English accent while on the phone. Hugh Laurie was able to use his own accent (or an accent close to his own) for this moment.
The poem book read by Lucas Palmeiro, House and finally Lucy Palmeiro is "The Wild Swans at Coole", written by William Butler Yeats in 1917.
