Noah Bennet is a former agent of the Company who also served as its field manager and one of their trainers, and was originally based out of Primatech Paper Co. Noah originally joined the company in order to hunt down dangerous individuals such as the one who murdered his first wife. Initially, Noah had no qualms with tracking and abducting evolved humans, but when the Company ordered him to turn over Claire, his beloved daughter adopted by him and Sandra, his new wife, as part of one of his assignments, he refused and made a run for it. After escaping to Costa Verde, CA, he began working for the Company again in a deal to keep Claire safe. After the disintegration of the Company, Noah was approached by Nathan and joined the Department of Homeland Security to once again, keep Claire safe. His marriage to Sandra has recently ended after the lies became too much, and after a series of incidents, Noah's life is now directed only towards destroying the Carnival. Despite his former life crumbling away, Noah has made a steady home in Washington and is in a relationship with former comrade Lauren Gilmore.

To most of the world, Noah Bennet seems like a typical, if slightly geeky, suburbanite father. His loyalty to his family and his loyalty to his profession are frequently at odds. While it's clear that he loves Claire very much and would do anything to protect her, his methods indicate a level of ruthlessness that conflicts with his genuinely caring nature. For example, while he seems to initially show real concern for Isaac's well being and rehabilitation, he does not hesitate to have Eden use her persuasive powers to make Isaac use heroin again when he believes he needs to make use of Isaac's precognitive abilities. Similarly, while his use of the Haitian's memory modifying ability on Brody seems somewhat restrained given his intense anger at the boy, the casual use of the same ability on Zach and even his own family shows that his dedication to his job—and to keeping Claire safe—knows no limits. He does seem to possess his own moral code, though, as his intense reactions to Sylar's murders and Eden's father's callousness attest.
