Dr. Bill Hoffman treats 5 people in group therapy: Dave, who recently attempted suicide, Jonathan, who is in denial about his sexuality, Inger, who lacks basic social skills, Darlene, who has many issues, one is a preoccupation with Dr. Hoffman, and Michael, who has been mandated by law into therapy for anger issues. But after his 25-year marriage with Anne ended, Bill has some issues of his own.
