Summary: Dan's childhood pal Vanessa returns to town and tells him she wants to be more than friends. Meanwhile, Blair does her best to keep party crashers out of the masquerade ball, but a disguised Dan and Jenny sneak in; and Lily hopes to provoke jealousy in Bart Bass by asking Rufus to be her date at an event.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: Serena discovers that Dan is lying to her about the girl she hears over the phone because he said it was Jenny, and Jenny showed up at Blair's at that second. This is impossible. Jenny left Brooklyn less than five minutes ago. The least amount of traffic in the world or fasted subway couldn't get her that far that fast.

TRIVIA

When Dan's ex mentions "perogies at Veselka" she is referring to eating perogies, an Eastern European dumpling. Veselka is a restaurant on 2nd Avenue and 9th Street in the East Village in Manhattan.
This is the first episode to feature Anne Archibald (Francie Swift) as a recurring character.
Dan's ex mentions going to Angelika. Angelika is an independent movie theater on Houston Street in Soho, Manhattan.
The picture of Serena for her ad on the Gossip Girl site was from the second episode 'The Wild Brunch' when Blair and Nate had come into the hotel room Serena was in.
