According to Chris Columbus in a 1986 interview with Starlog magazine, this episode was originally entitled "The Time Machine". According to his synopsis, Professor Icenstein was to take the kids back to when there grandparents were Galaxy High's first students. Also, Doyle was to have fallen in love with a beautiful girl in the past only to discover she's the school's presently ancient librarian.
