Main Characters in this Episode
Fry: Bender, you can move! You're cured!
Bender: Oh, crap! It's a miracle!
- The episode title "Bendin' in the Wind" is a reference to the song, "Blowin' in the Wind" by the famous American Folk singer, Bob Dylan.
- The cast is chased through the streets of San Francisco. During the chase, a green Volkswagen-esqe hovercar keeps appearing. This is a sly reference to Bullitt in which a green Volkswagen shows up several times during the famous car chase. Also, the Camper-van the characters drive loses a hubcap which re-appears in the next scene, just like Det. Lt. Bullitt's car which loses a total of six hub-caps in the car chase. - For his guest appearance in this episode, Beck actually requested the writers add more jokes poking fun at him.
- When Bender is writing a song, he's seen holding a piece of sheet music with the title "Nº5, by Bender". If you look at it closely, it reads the first part of Beethoven's Fifth symphony, note for note.
