Summary: The intergalactic adventures begin with the third season premiere episode when Bender's uncle, The Archduke of Thermstadt, dies. He leaves his gothic castle to Bender... on one condition -- Bender must spend a full night there. In a homage to classic horror movies, Bender becomes cursed and transforms every night, threatening the entire Planet Express gang.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

PLOT: After the fortune teller tells Fry, Bender, and Leela that Bender will eventually kill his dearest friend, Fry gets mad that Bender picks Leela instead of him; however, the fortune teller said "one night" not, "the next time he transforms".

TRIVIA

The title, and, indeed, the entire episode is a reference to "The Howling" and other werewolf movies and shows.
The robotic Gypsy's book says "Curse of the Were-Car - for Windows 98".
The ghosts chasing Bender along the castle hallways are the Microsoft logo and a toaster with wings from the popular After Dark screen saver.
The "Were-car" Bender transforms into has a strong resemblance to the title character in Universal Pictures The Car (1977). "The Car" was reported to be driven or possessed by Satan.
One of the paintings in the castle says "Commodore LXIV", an obvious nod to Commodore 64.
