Futurama - 02x04 Fry & the Slurm Factory

Summary: Fry becomes obsessed with winning a contest sponsored by his favorite drink, Slurm. He goes through many cans in order to try and find the golden bottlecap hidden inside one of them, using the Professor's latest invention, the F-ray, to help. Finally, Fry is successful and wins a VIP tour of the Slurm factory for him and the rest of the crew, as well as the chance to party with Slurms MacKenzie. Along the tour, everyone becomes curious as to what Slurm's secret ingredient is. Fry, however, is more concerned with quenching his thirst. When he accidentally falls into the Slurm river trying to sneak a sip, Leela and Bender jump in after him. The three end up discovering the disgusting truth behind Slurm.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: When Fry, Leela and Bender are being tortured by the Slurm Queen, Bender is put through a machine that will turn him into cans of Slurm. The machine punches one hole through him before he is saved by his friends. This hole is quite large and can be clearly seen on his side. When they are running from the Queen the hole disappears completely. However, later on after they escape the actual planet and they are partying on their ship, the hole reappears. It can be seen when Bender drinks some Slurm and it falls out of the hole and into Fry's mouth.
PLOT: Slurms McKenzie didn't need to stay and "party" to trap the worm queen in the corridor. All he had to do was turn on the radio, crank it up to 5, and run. His partying couldn't possibly have made the corridor cave in. Additionally, if the corridor was fragile enough for a small battery powered radio to cause it to cave in, it probably would have caved in long before Slurms caved it in.
CONT: When Fry, Bender, and Leela flee the Slurm factory with Slurms McKenzie and his two babes, the babes' shoes disappear and reappear.

TRIVIA

The Professor and Leela are playing a variant of Scrabble. On the Professor's tile tray, you can see F-U-U-T-A-M-R. On the board you can see the tiles arranged to say "one eye", "prop only", "donut", and "Matt area".
We find out Bender's processor is a 6502, the same processor that powered the Apple II in 1978. The Commodore 64 used a 6502 processor, too.
In this episode, Farnsworth and Leela play Scrabble on a multi-tiered board which, other than being a Scrabble board, is identical to the "3D chess" board which made frequent appearances on "Star Trek" (1966) and its spin-offs.
