Episode Quotes
Guenter: I could never disappoint the professor. He's like a father to me.
Leela: But he's not your father. The guy in the punch bowl was your father.
Leela: But he's not your father. The guy in the punch bowl was your father.
Professor Hubert Farnsworth: Oh, I always feared he would run off like this. Why? WHY? WHY didn't I break his legs?
Fry: Very impressive, back in the 20th century we had no idea there was a university on Mars.
Professor Hubert Farnsworth: Well, in those days Mars was a dreary uninhabitable wasteland much like Utah, but unlike Utah Mars was eventually made livable.

Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The question in Fry's 20th Century History class about the invention of television is answered incorrectly. While popularized in the 20th century, television was actually invented in the late 19th century.
- Goof (factual errors): Bender sees the house of his old fraternity, Epsilon Rho Rho, which has a sign reading "ERR". However, the Greek letter Rho looks like the Latin letter P (as does its Cyrillic descendant), so the sign should look like "EPP".
- Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): Leela says of Mars University: "They planted traditional college foliage: ivy, trees, hemp..." but when she says "hemp," her lips appear to be saying, "marijuana."
Trivia
- Prof. Farnsworth mentions that Mars University was founded in 2636. This is 1000 years after the 1636 founding of the New College, the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. (In 1639, it was renamed Harvard.)
- Title screen gag: Transmitido en Martian en SAP
