Phillip Fry, a pizza delivery boy, accidentally freezes himself on New Year's Night 1999. He wakes a thousand years later and is given the chance to have a new identity for himself. He goes to work for the Planet Express, a futuristic delivery service, which transports packages to all quadrants of the universe.

Futurama has today been cancelled by comedy central. After seven seasons worth of adventures filled with aliens, time travel, robot hell, and the occasional bout of snoo-snoo related attempted murder, it appears that the crew of the Planet Express is finally grounded for good.

At the very end of the theme song, there is always something different displayed on the screen before the ship crashes into it. This is reminiscent of Matt Groening's cult phenomenon of The Simpsons, as there are three distinctly varying elements in the intro music as well. (Bart's chalkboard writings, the method of the family sitting down on the couch and Lisa's saxophone solo as she leaves band practice.)
