In my opinion one of the best anime of all time. For those who are unfamiliar, the basic premise of the show deals with a world in which humanity largely pursued the studies of alchemy or 'witchcraft' if you will. As opposed to the real life progression of the sciences. In this parallel reality taking place in about an equivalent time period as our own early 20th century, the characters are always walking and often crossing the boundaries of what could be considered moral. More specifically, the two main characters, the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, encounter a multitude of misadventures, wonders, and unspeakable horrors in their search for a way to regain what they lost in a failed attempt to bring their mother back from the dead through alchemy. The show's not-so-subtle use of religious references and references to the dark arts gives it a dark and edgy feel that harshly disrupts an otherwise comparatively warm and sunny state of normalcy. |

Downside, it is too short. But great story line and shit. The movie is one of the best anime I have ever seen and really completes the series real well. |

Fullmetal Alchemist is one hell of a story. (i don't want to spoil anything) but this "kid story" is more intense than most shows with alchemy themes. Lots of action, (following traditional anime) unrequited love and revenge |
