Episode Quotes
Richard: I see you grew your hair long.
Monica: Yeah. Oh, that's right, you always wanted me to. I see you grew your mustache back.
Richard: Yeah, my nose was getting lonely.
Chandler: [to Richard's date] And you don't have a mustache, which is good.
Chandler: Hi, I'm Chandler and I make jokes when I'm uncomfortable.
Chandler: [to Ross] You've got to forget about Elizabeth, man. If you're not careful you may not get married at all this year.
Trivia
- Dr. Richard Burke (Tom Selleck), recites an excerpt from a poem at dinner: "In the sweetness of friendship, let there be laughter and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed." It is the end of Kahlil Gibran's "On Friendship".
- The writers originally intended for Ross to discover that Elizabeth was pregnant in "The One With The Proposal". Ross would discover after their baby was born that it wasn't his. This idea was scrapped as writers didn't want to put viewers through an entire pregnancy that would later prove to have nothing to do with the central characters.
- David Schwimmer began shooting the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers during the second week of production on this episode and therefore was not part of the big group hug at the end. (His absence is noted by the characters on screen.)
