The scene outside in the cemetery is the first in the series to be filmed off the set, on location.
Another idea for the name of the coffeehouse was "Java Joe's". This idea was later reused in "The One Where Nana Dies", when, on the picture of Nana and her own friends, Nana wrote, "Me and the gang at Java Joe's."
"The Rachel", Jennifer Aniston's popular hairstyle, made its debut in "The One Where Nana Dies Twice". The cut became very popular among fans. When Marlo Thomas guest starred as Rachel's mother in the second season, Rachel was upset that her mother wanted to be more like her and was planning to leave her father, and said "Couldn't she just copy my haircut?", a joke about the large number of people who had copied her haircut.
