Episode Quotes
Saffron: I'm sorry that I shame you.
Mal: You don't shame me! Zoë, would you get Wash.
Zoë: [Over the PA system] This is Zoë. We need all personnel in the cargo bay.
Mal: All? I said Wash!
Zoë: Captain, everyone should have a chance to congratulate you on your day of bliss.
Mal: There's-there's no bliss! I don't know this girl.
Jayne Cobb: Then can I know her?

Jayne Cobb: Then can I know her?
Wash: [Wash being seduced by Saffron] I wish I was somebody else right now, somebody not... married, not madly in love with a beautiful woman who can kill me with her pinky.
Saffron: How'd you find me?
Mal: Only a few places that shuttle would make it to from where you left. Happy to find it intact.
Saffron: You're quite a man, Malcolm Reynolds. [seductively] I've been waiting a long time for someone good enough to take me down.
Mal: Saffron, you even think about playing me again I will riddle you with holes.
Saffron: Everybody plays each other. That's all anybody ever does. We play parts.

Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Jayne says that his gun ("Vera") needs oxygen around it to fire. The gun is shown with standard projectile rounds which produce all the oxygen they need. The producers were not sure if "Vera" would need oxygen to fire. So they asked a gun expert, who gave them the wrong information, according to commentary on the DVDs.
- Goof (continuity error): Wash's position in the doorway, after Saffron hits him changes.
Trivia
- Jayne's favorite gun, Vera, is actually a highly modified Saiga-12 shotgun. The prop gun was custom built by gunsmiths Larry Zanoff and Jim Boland for the film Showtime before being used on Firefly. Jayne also carries Vera in "Firefly" (2002) {War Stories (#1.9)}, but notably does not fire it on camera.
- The supposedly biblical quote Saffron uses in her seduction of Mal does not appear in the Bible. She may have fabricated it assuming Mal would not know the difference.
- This is the only episode in which River does not speak. She had lines in the original shooting script, but they were cut before the episode made it to air.
