Summary: In an attempt to attract what he considers to be the "right sort" of guests, Basil plans a Gourmet Night, with the help of his new chef, Kurt. Kurt, however, has been trying to attract the attention of Manuel, and when he's rebuffed, takes solace in the bottle. By the time the guests arrive for Gourmet Night, Kurt is passed out on the kitchen floor, and dinner is nowhere in sight. Basil hastily makes arrangements to have a gourmet dinner supplied by a chef in town, but his broken-down car puts a damper on those plans.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: After Basil takes the guests' orders, he goes into the kitchen from the bar to sort out their starters. Then he and Manuel take the starters into the dining room, where the guests are sitting. However, to get from the bar to the dining room, they would have to have gone past the door to the kitchen, which was open throughout the kitchen scene, yet at no point did we see the guests walking past.
SYNC: In the first scene when Basil is trying to repair his car, when he tries to start the engine, the engine sounds are totally out of sync with Basil turning the ignition key.
CREW: After Basil gets the duck from Andre, he tells Manuel to get the trolley. Basil then walks into the door, and the duck goes flying. You can see the arm of the crewmember holding the door closed. When Manuel comes through the door and stands on the duck, and you can see the crewmember's face.
CREW: When Basil is out of the car and shouting at it after its final breakdown, you can see a crew member reflected in the right hand side of the windscreen giving John Cleese cues.
CONT: At the beginning of "Gourmet Night", Manuel fetches Basil from outside to answer the phone. Basil enters the building first, but somehow Manuel gets to reception first.
