Summary: When Grandpa Griffin comes for a visit, he, as usual, tries to impose his religious beliefs on the family. This causes Peter to search for a new religion, his own religion. Of course, he turns to his idol: the Fonz, and establishes a Church of the Fonz, which proves to be a bigger success then they could ever have imagined. Meanwhile, a mishap puts Stewie living in a bubble.

For the "Opposites Attract" parody in this episode, Paula Abdul re-recorded her vocals in the song since the show's producers were unable to splice in Peter's singing over the song's original male vocal part.
The title is based on the Christian concept of the Trinity that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are three persons, but the same being. The character "The Fonz" played by Henry Winkler from the television series "Happy Days" (1974) is also referenced.
The voice of Bruce the performance artist is used for Jaws the shark in one scene. When filming Jaws (1975), Steven Spielberg nicknamed the animatronic shark "Bruce." Whether this is a deliberate joke on the part of the Family Guy crew or a total coincidence is unknown.
