Summary: When Peter loses a big amount of money on an insurance scam, he decides he needs a Jewish man to control his money. Coincidentally, one happens to have car problems in front of his house. The Jewish man does great, and saves Peter a lot of money. This makes Peter decide that in order to be successful in life, Chris needs to become Jewish. Instead of studying hard, Peter takes Chris to Las Vegas for a Vegas Bar Mitzvah.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

PLOT: Peter and Chris are already in Las Vegas, waiting in line at the Bar Mitzvah Chapel when Lois learns where they've gone. She makes the two-day drive to Nevada and runs three miles to Las Vegas while they're still waiting.

TRIVIA

Glen Quagmire drives a '57 Chevy Bel Air convertible.
The title is based on the song "When You Wish Upon a Star" from the 1940 Walt Disney movie Pinocchio (1940).
The episode eventually did air on Fox, but with the following change: in the song "I Need a Jew," Peter says, referring to Jews, "I know they didn't kill my lord," instead of the original line, "Even though they killed my lord."
Due to a controversy over it's subject matter, this episode never aired on FOX. It was included in the Season 3 DVD box and in 2003 began showing in syndication.
