Summary: When Chris witnesses a robbery, the FBI sends the Griffin's into the witness protection program in the South. Once there, Chris befriends a boy named Sam. Meanwhile, Peter pisses off the Southerners during a Civil War Reenactment, and Chris becomes greatly confused when Sam kisses him. Back at home, one of the FBI agents accidentally lets the Griffin's location out, and the robber comes looking for them.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FAKE: The DVD version of "To Love and Die in Dixie" subtitles the Narrator as "Uncle Jesse". It is actually the voice of the late Waylon Jennings, as "The Balladeer".
CONT: When Peter and Brian and driving around in the "General Lee" car, when they fly over something, the underside changes back and forth from gray to red.
CONT: As Lois says "What!" in close up of her head, notice the sky is blue which is daytime. But when Peter uses the phone to call the Sheriff's office, the sky turns night time.

TRIVIA

Stewie's line "Deliciously white trash" has been misquoted as "Delightfully white trash" on numerous pieces of Family Guy merchandise.
The character of Herbert (the old man with a crush on Chris who lives on Spooner Street) first appeared in this episode, and then in "From Method to Madness" before the show was canceled in 2002. In the three years that followed, he became such a popular character among fans that he appeared frequently since the show began airing new episodes in 2005. And the running gag with his creepy demeanor is that his name rhymes with "pervert".
The name "Fleckenstein", which Peter pitches as a potential song title to Simon and Garfunkel, is taken from one of the show's writing assistants.
