Extreme Gong updates "The Gong Show" by replacing the celebrity panel with call-in voting. If more than 50% of callers vote to gong, it is done; however, the producer can decide to gong anyway. Progress is shown by an on-screen gong that is green for positive feedback and flashing red/orange for negative. If an act is gonged, lightning engulfs the gong and it explodes to splatter the screen.
