On August 4, 2011, SyFy picked up Eureka for a sixth and most likely final season that will contain only 6 new episodes.

On August 8, 2011, season six order was withdrawn and show will be canceled after fifth season.

Is there any hope left for Eureka?

I am so tired of seeing good shows cancelled and shows that should be cancelled go on forever.

Aaahhhaa Now I see, my son just didn't really remember the pilot and see how it isn't so much a cliff hanger as a wrap up, leaving the inhabitants of Eureka doing exactly what they've always done. I like it.

I have been saving the final ep, my son tells me it was somewhat of a cliffhanger? How is that possible if they are ending the series, with a "satisfying end"...? Personally, I think they had a good show, but as with almost all series, the first couple of seasons were best. I felt they started recycling plots of other TV series in the third season, and that just got more prevalent as the series continued.

That figures. Every time there is a good/great series it gets cancelled. I have not missed an episode, Eureka is my all time favorite and I hate to see it go. I agree with maxibruce.

how can they keep the ratings up on a fantastic show when they make us wait 6 months, air two shows then go on hiatis for another 6 months. they screwed the show big time!! eureka remains my all time favorite series-next to the star treks of course.

The biggest question that needs to be asked is "What are networks doing?" I am seeing good shows being cancelled and replaced with cheap mind numbing TV: American Idol, America's got Talent, Think You can dance, Voice, Survivor, and Etc. Rigged reality TV is by far the worst TV to watch because networks control the outcome that will give them the best weekly ratings. Another good TV show like Eureka is done, and I am watching less and less TV. The only ones that are to blame for this shift is networks and simple minded viewer bots.

Eureka was the best thing the SyFy channel ever had,it is a wonder it lasted as long as it did. They treated the show after and it's fan base like an unwanted stepchild from season 3 onward.Sorry to say the latest shows(even though I still love it)suffered from weak scripts. However I hope the show can survive, but I doubt it.Farewell Eureka,it Has Been an Extreme Pleasure!

if the breaks in-between weren't so long the ratings wouldn't have dropped. it's a great show hope they reconsider.
