Professor Ian Hood, a scientific expert, works for the government and seeks to solve baffling occurrences, which others fail to recognize or solve. His government connections reach so high that he can, when necessary, bypass or ignore local officials. He is accompanied by a Police Protection Officer Rachel Young. He has made enemies in his investigations and has received death threats.
