Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (revealing mistake): There is a camera wobble and audible thud as the camera bumps into the set while carrying out a tracking shot during the scene in which Darrius is dying.

Trivia

  • The mechanical arms of the statue are the real arms of a person stuck through the set.
  • This episode was watched by 9.9 million viewers on its original transmission.
  • Script editor David Whitaker rewrote the draft script to remove the Doctor from the plot, to allow William Hartnell a week's holiday. This is why Hartnell is credited, but does not appear.
