Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (continuity error): When Prisoner Zero is disguised as a mother and two children the younger daughter is on the mother's left and the older daughter is on her right. However when the Doctor crashes the ladder through the window the daughters have switched sides with the younger one on the mother's right. A few moments later they have switched back again.
- Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): When The Doctor says "Am I people?" to young Amelia, his mouth does not match.
- Goof (continuity error): During the Doctor's rooftop conversation with the Atraxi, Rory can be seen standing behind him holding a selection of jackets and ties. As the Atraxi are reviewing the various incarnations of the Doctor, one of the jackets (a dark reddish brown jacket) can be seen on the ground to Rory's left. When the Doctor says the line "Hello, I'm the Doctor", the coat is still on the ground, but the scene immediately cuts to a closeup with Rory still holding the jacket in his arms.
- Goof (continuity error): When the Doctor leaves Amelia for his TARDIS-stabilizing, five-minute hop into the future, Caitlin Blackwood's closeup shows her hair being whipped around by the TARDIS' departure. When it cuts immediately then to an over-the-shoulder shot of Blackwood watching the departure, her hair is totally unaffected.
- Goof (continuity error): Rory's Mini Cooper was in the parking lot next to the duck pond, but when he and Amy got into it, it had moved in front of the book store, where previously there was no car.
Trivia
- In Series 4. Karen Gillan had a guest role in "The Fires of Pompeii" as a Soothsayer, before being cast as The Doctor's new companion, Amy Pond.
- A milestone episode, introducing a new Doctor and companion, this was premiered for the press at a restricted event held at Cineworld in Cardiff on 18th March 2010.
- The hospital used is the same hospital in Season 7 where Jon Pertwee was taken after he fell out of the TARDIS and fell into a coma. Like Jon Pertwee, Matt Smith steals clothes from the hospital lockers to wear.
- The cameo role of Doctor. Ramsden was at first intended for a male actor.
- Caitlin Blackwood, who plays Young Amy Pond, is actually the cousin of Karen Gillan, who plays Amy as an adult. Karen begged producers to cast her young cousin, even though they had never met until the read through
