MISTAKES/GOOFS
- CONT: A character in one scene has two shadows, while the rest have only one. In wide overhead shots, he has two shadows, but in tighter shots from floor level, he has only one shadow.
- FAKE: At the end, when the shadow closes off their escape, you see a shot of the walking swarm of Vashta Nerada. Along the right side of the shot you can tell the area it's walking beside has the hole that was created by the squareness gun earlier, revealing this to be a reused shot.
- FAKE: When the swarm begins walking around in the EVA suit you can clearly see that the neural link has lost power, yet you can still hear the previous occupants voice 'ghosting'.
- CONT: After the girl is killed, we see her communicator as her "ghost" slowly fades. In one shot we see from a slight distance the lights left lit tick down to 3, then a short while passes, we cut back and the lights are back to 4. They then tick down to 3 again.
TRIVIA
- The Doctor mentions that "emergency program one" will send Donna home should she be left alone in the TARDIS for five hours. In "Doctor Who" (2005) {The Parting of the Ways (#1.13)}, this program was activated by the Ninth Doctor to send Rose Tyler home.
- The psychic paper has previously summoned the Doctor to a location in New Earth, where the Face of Boe called the Doctor.
- According to Steven Moffat, the squareness gun used by Professor River Song to help the party escape from the impending Vashta Nerada is intended to be the same sonic blaster that was used by Jack Harkness in the episode "Doctor Who" (2005) {The Doctor Dances (#1.10)}. Moffat suggests that it was left in the TARDIS after "Doctor Who" (2005) {The Parting of the Ways (#1.13)}, and taken by River Song in the Doctor's future. The name "squareness gun" was coined by Rose in the earlier episode.
