Summary: The Doctor, Donna, and Martha are drawn to a world at war. Two factions, human beings and the monstrous Hath, seek the mysterious "source" at the heart of their underground city. Soldiers on both sides are genetically bred for battles using genetic extrapolators, and when the Doctor is subjected to one of these devices, it produces a unique solider... and a very special girl...

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FAKE: When Jenny does somersaults through the laser beams, the last two beams are level horizontally and the higher beam is lower than her foot so she should have broken it.
CHAR: Unless the generated soldiers age at an extremely accelerated rate (or are created old, which is somewhat illogical, as they're supposed to fight), General Cobb should know all about the fighting and what the Source is, not to mention how everything works, what the numbers mean, and so on.

TRIVIA

Georgia Moffett, who portrays the Doctor's daughter Jenny in this episode, is in real life the daughter of Peter Davison (I), who portrayed the Doctor in the early 1980s.
SPOILER: The original plan for the story was to keep Jenny killed off. However, fellow Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat suggested that Jenny should be revived at the end of the episode instead.
Donna Noble gets a cell phone upgrade, the second of 2 signs that she is the new companion, the other being a key to the TARDIS .
The one line said by the soldier was deleted in post.
The scar that the cloning machine leaves on the back of the Doctor's hand is the same shape as the scar on the back of the child's hand in Season 1's _"Doctor Who" The Empty Child (2005)_.
