Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (revealing mistake): When Martha looks out the hospital window and realizes they're on the moon, Martha is still moving but her reflection in the window is completely still.
  • Goof (revealing mistake): The name of the hospital is Royal Hope Hospital, but the doors and signs all have the initials RHT on them, not RHH.
  • Goof (factual errors): We see the Judoon spaceships landing on the moon. The dust they create billows out like faint clouds. In the high vacuum of the moon this would simply race away.
  • Goof (continuity error): While running around the hospital many ceiling tiles are missing, having fallen when the hospital was moved, yet no tiles can be seen on the floor.
  • Goof (continuity error): When the Earth is seen from the Moon, the Earth is a little more than half full. Later that day, after returning to Earth, Martha sees a full Moon. The Moon should have been just less than half. The Moon as seen from Earth and Earth as seen from the Moon will always be in opposite phases.

Trivia

  • The Doctor for the first time reveals that he has (or, rather, had) a brother.
  • Rose Tyler mention: The Doctor accepts Martha aboard the Tardis for one trip but says she is not replacing Rose.
  • Paul Kasey had to be replaced in some scenes because of scheduling conflicts so Ruari Mears played the Judoon Captain in some scenes.
  • When Martha and The Doctor first step out onto the balcony and Martha says that the cause must be extra-terrestrial, she refers to a cousin, named Adeola. Freema Agyeman played the character Adeola in "Doctor Who" (2005) {Army of Ghosts (#2.12)}. It was this role that convinced the directors to choose her to play Martha.
  • The first appearances of Martha, Leo, Tish, Francine and Clive Jones.
