Summary: The Doctor, Rose, Mickey, Mickey’s alternate Ricky, and Rose’s alternate father, are cornered by the now activated Cybermen, but are able to escape their impending deletion when the Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver to a deadly effect. The Doctor and team then join up with a resistance group they have met up with, that has been fighting this evil plan for awhile. It also appears that Mickey’s alternate reality double, Ricky, is the fearless leader of the group.The Doctor convinces them that the best plan is to divide the group up into three parts, and attack in three places, the location that the soon to be “upgraded” London population is being lead to, via their cybernetic ear pieces everyone has been wearing for news and entertainment purposes for years.Can the Doctor solve the answer on how to stop the Cybermen? Can Rose help her alternate father save her alternate mother, neither of which know who she is, from the Cybermen? And can the meekish Mickey find the courage to help in defeating this terrible enemy force along side his fearless alternate, Ricky?

The Doctor: Don't! You'll cause a brainstorm. Human race, you're such an intelligent lot. You aren't half susceptible. Give anyone a chance to take control and you submit. Sometimes I think you like it, easy life.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: When the Cyberman is hit by the electromagnetic bomb, it falls to its knees, then backwards. As the Doctor and Mrs. Moore walk towards it, the Cyberman has its legs extended.
CONT: As the Van drives up to rescue the Doctor and the others, a row of Cybermen are marching towards them in the background. The camera angle changes and the Cybermen are nowhere to be seen.
CONT: While hiding behind the mini-skips, Rose and Pete hold hands. After a cut to close up, they hold hands again.
GEOG: When Mickey and Jake drive off in the van at the end of the episode there is a sign saying "Welcome to Newport" (the series is made by BBC Wales) whereas two minutes before they were on the south bank of the Thames in London.
FAKE: When Rose gets the message there are two things wrong with what you see on the phones screen: firstly on the top right of the screen you can see the icon for mute even though you heard the beep, and secondly that screen is for when you type in the number you want to call (text), not the screen for receiving a text.

TRIVIA

In this episode, Lumic is "upgraded" to Cyber Controller. Roger Lloyd Pack who plays lumic in human form, actually provided the controller's voice along with Nicholas Briggs. Listen carefully and you will be able to tell the difference between voices. Lumic's/controller's voice sounds more human in terms of tone.
The character of the Newsreader was added after filming had finished.
