 | Season 2 / Episode 2: - Tooth and Claw
Queen Victoria: And please excuse the naked girl. Rose Tyler: Sorry. The Doctor: She's a feral child. I bought her for sixpence in old London Town. It's was her or the Elephant Man, so... Rose Tyler: Thinks he's funny but I'm so not amused. |
 | Season 2 / Episode 2: - Tooth and Claw
Sir Robert: It's all my fault. I should have sent you away. I tried to suggest something was wrong... I thought you might notice. Did you think there was nothing strange about my household staff? The Doctor: Well, they were bald, athletic, your wife's away... I just thought you were happy! |

MISTAKES/GOOFS
- PLOT: It is *extremely* unlikely that armed soldiers on guard over the room holding some precious object, told to "defend it with your lives", would accept any food or drink from a person unknown to them without approval from a superior officer.
- FACT: At dinner, Captain Reynolds speculates that the disappearances of local children have been blamed on wolves. Wolves had been extinct in the British Isles for more than a century by 1879.
- FACT: SPOILER: At the end of the episode, the Doctor and Rose are speculating as to whether the hemophilia in Queen Victoria's descendants was actually a result of the Werewolf bite she received. However, her son Leopold had been diagnosed with the disease in early childhood, 2 decades before this episode takes place. The Doctor also incorrectly implies that Queen Victoria has hemophilia, when she is only a carrier of the disease.
TRIVIA
- Annette Crosbie was first offered the main guest lead of Queen Victoria.
- The Doctor, as "James McCrimmon," claims to have studied at the University of Edinburgh under Dr. Bell. Dr. Joseph Bell was a lecturer and expert in observational deduction. He served as a mentor of Arthur Conan Doyle, who used Bell as a model for Sherlock Holmes.
- At one point Sir Robert, played by Derek Riddell offers to go out of the window and help Queen Victoria down. She replies that he is like her very own Sir Walter Raleigh. Derek Riddell had recently played Sir Walter Raleigh in "The Virgin Queen" (2005).
- Pauline Collins is the first female Oscar-nominated performer to appear in the series.
- Torchwood Reference: The estate on which Sir Robert lives is called Torchwood. After the events take place, Queen Victoria vows that to honor the acts of Sir Robert, she would found an institute dedicated to finding such strange events. She would name it The Torchwood Institute
