Summary: The Doctor is called to back to Earth by a psychic letter asking for help. However, the Tardis materializes in a strange museum filled with many alien objects, many of which are from the future, and it’s also located many stores underground.After the museum’s owner captures the Doctor and Rose, the Doctor gets a horrible shock when he learns who or what the one lone living museum collection turns out to be – the last living Dalek!The barely alive Dalek, which has been tortured for a very long time, is however, able to turn the tables, and regain its former strength and power. Now the deadly Dalek seeks revenge on its former torturers, and the last of the Time Lords, after which it plans to exterminate the entire human population.Can the Doctor find a way to stop the murderous Dalek, before it gets out and destroys all of mankind? Rose, however, may turn out to be the key.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FAKE: Dalek is escaping and enters the large room with the soldiers. He starts the sprinklers so he can kill them faster. When they show the dead soldiers they show some casings which were ejected from the soldiers' guns. The casings still have projectiles in them. If used, they would have been in magazines (clips) and would never fall out like they are shown.
FAKE: The security guard holding the stairs against the Dalek as Rose and Adam escape is given a close up as she's firing her gun. With every shot, she blinks, showing that the actress has had very little experience in firing firearms.
FACT: The map of the US shown on Van Statten's monitor is missing the upper peninsula of Michigan.
FAKE: Some of the guards react to the water dripping on their faces from the sprinkler system, after being killed by the dalek.

TRIVIA

Michael Brandon (I) was asked to play Van Statten but was not free.
The titular dalek was operated by three people. One actor was inside the dalek casing to move and rotate the body. A second was moving the head and eye stalk and operating the lights by a radio controlled remote. The third was performing the voice and gesturing to the remote control operator to time the lights with the voice. In the original series, "Doctor Who" (1963), the daleks had only two operators; one performing the voice and the actor inside the casing doing everything else.
Bad Wolf Reference: As Van Statten's helicopter lands, we hear the announcement "Bad Wolf One descending".
This episode was watched by 8.63 million viewers on its original transmission, winning a 44.89% audience share.
The fictional Geocomtex website lists under its Products section Node Stabilized (in Lupus and Nocens variants). Lupus is Latin for wolf and nocens for harmful or bad. Interestingly, they also offer Argentum Ordnance, otherwise known as silver bullets.
