Successful plastic surgeon Bill Shore, in a bid to save his marriage to Lisa accepts a six-month veterinary research job on a small Northumbrian island called Hildasay. Bill reluctantly agrees to relocate to the island with his wife, daughter and son. The concept is how they adjust to island life and Bill's enduring attempts to leave. In season 2 however it is Lisa who wants to leave.
