Dexter Morgan: [voiceover] I refuse to believe that vince masuka is the man who single-handedly brings me down. I also know denial is the first stage of the grieving process for those who learn they're going to die.

Mistakes/Goofs
- Goof (factual errors): When Dexter walks into the room and Lila is using the welding torch (and wearing the welder's mask), she looks over and "sees" that it is Dexter. You cannot see anything at all when the visor is down, so it would have been impossible for her to see who it was.
- Goof (revealing mistake): The actor playing teenage Dexter has a dark mole just to the right an even with with mouth. Adult Dexter has no mole any where near his mouth. Growing up would not move a mole around his face to another location.
- Goof (continuity error): When Lila is pulling the horse head post from under her car the chain is still attached. When Dexter goes to help and lifts it into the back of her Bronco it no longer has a chain attached.
