MISTAKES/GOOFS

FACT: The use of M99 (Etorphine) is inaccurate. It is an opioid, not a paralytic (as the police say "causes paralysis). Also, you need more than a DEA licence to acquire it. It is only sold for veterinary use and the only use it has is in zoos. Veterinary strength etorphine will kill a human in minutes after a single drop on the skin, so any injectable amount such as Dexter uses would kill the victim just about immediately.
FACT: For children's protective services to so quickly place the Cuban refugee boy with his just-located uncle. Normally, CPS would require foster certification, even of a family member, and while it could expedite this process, it wouldn't occur as quickly as depicted in the episode.
