Summary: After a typical movie night, Joey tells Dawson’s (who have been best friends since the age of 6) that she doesn’t really think if it is possible for them to share the same bed and continue a platonic relationship now that they are going into high school. But her fears are put to rest when Jen, the granddaughter of Dawson’s neighbor, moves to town and Dawson becomes infatuated with her. Pacey, Dawson’s pal starts to fall for the new English teacher and drags the entire group to a movie he knows she will be attending. It is during the movie that Joey gets bitchy with Jen, noticing that Jen is moving in on Dawson; but there relationship is patched up at the end when Dawson and Joey share some intimate information…

MISTAKES/GOOFS

CONT: As Pacey and Dawson walk into Dawson's house, Pacey's shirt is cream colored with vertical stripes down the front. Once they have entered the house, he is in a totally different shirt, a white one with horizontal and vertical stripes.
CONT: In the first episode, the first sign that we see says Capeside High, Home of the Wildcats and it is in black and orange but a mere five seconds later, if you look carefully, you can see students walk past another sign that clearly says Capeside High, Home of the Minutemen and the colors are blue and yellow, as are the jackets of the jocks throwing the football around.
CREW: In the pilot episode, as the four enter the movie theater, Joey raises her arms to pull her shirt up and a wireless microphone box is visibly clipped to the back of her waist.
CREW: When Jen is in the kitchen with Grams, you can see a boom mic fall down on the top hand of the screen very visibly.
FACT: The mascot of their high school is the Patriots. But in some early episodes you can see posters hanging in the school that say Go Wildcats. That is the mascot of New Hanover High School in Wilmington which is where they filmed school scenes in the first season before moving locations to UNC-W.

TRIVIA

In the first episode, when Grams is calling Jen from Dawson's room, it was a different actress who was wearing a wig and not Mary Beth Peil.
Katie Holmes never really rowed the boat. The boat was pulled by a rope that remained out of focus by the camera.
