Dr. Peter Guthrie and Joe Haskell break into Laura Murdoch Stockbridge s crypt at Eagle Hill Cemetery. David Collins informs Victoria Winters that he wants to go away with his mother, Laura. Guthrie arranges to conduct a seance at the Old House to contact Josette Collins ghost. Victoria makes a bizarre discovery that leads her to believe David s life is in jeopardy after Laura summons him to an abandoned fishing shack. Victoria sees Elizabeth Collins Stoddard coming from the mysterious locked room in the Collinwood basement.
A nervous Elizabeth is shocked when Jason McGuire, a devious friend of her missing husband s, arrives in town unexpectedly. He reminids Elizabeth of an old secret that they share. Jason and his traveling companion, a drifter named Willie Loomis, force Elizabeth to let them move into Collinwood. Willie learns that Collins family members have been buried with their jewels and he becomes mesmerized by the portrait of Barnabas Collins hanging in the foyer.

Now, for the first time on DVD, MPI presents the spooky series rare, early episodes before Barnabas.
Victoria Winters and Frank Garner anxiously search for clues to Laura Collins strange origins and are led to a series of bizarre discoveries. Elizabeth Collins Stoddard orders Laura to leave Collinwood, but Laura secretly visits Elizabeth while she sleeps and places her in a trance. Laura warns Victoria that she will take control of her son, David Collins, but becomes frightened when the ghost of Josette Collins appears to her. Against Roger Collins wishes, a psychic investigator, Dr. Peter Guthrie, is called in to examine the strange occurrences at Collinwood and a seance is held. Victoria and Guthrie learn that the body of a dead woman identified as Laura has disappeared from the morgue in Phoenix, Arizona.

When Victoria Winters searches the Old House for David Collins, she is abducted and held captive by Matthew Morgan, the Collinses fugitive caretaker who is hiding following the death of family friend Bill Malloy. A massive search is held to find Victoria. An angry and jealous Joe Haskell fights with Burke Devlin after he catches Carolyn Stoddard, his girlfriend, with Burke in his room at the Collinsport Inn. A mysterious woman visits the diner and asks waitress Maggie Evans about the Collins family.
The ghost of Josette Collins appears to Matthew and attempts to protect Victoria. Sam Evans reveals to a stunned Roger Collins that Roger s estranged wife, Laura, has returned. Sam begins to paint a bizarre portrait of a woman surrounded by flames, which he cannot explain. Burke hopes to get Laura to clear him of the manslaugter charge that sent him to prison. Laura tells her son, David, the story of the immortal creature known as a Phoenix and he has a terrifying nightmare about his mother.

Roger Collins frantically searches to recover evidence that may incriminate him.

In an attempt to settle the controversy surrounding the manslaughter case that sent Burke Devlin to prison, Collins Fishing Fleet Manager Bill Malloy sets up a private meeting for himself, Roger Collins, Same Evans and Burke.
Elizabeth Collins Stoddard confides to Victoria some of the legends involving Collinwood and Widow s Hill. Carolyn Stoddard and Victoria spot a body floating at the bottom of the cliff and Victoria soon experiences a strange premonition. After Malloy mysteriously disappears, Roger nervously bribes Sam to leave town. A ghost emerges from the Old House on the Collins family property.

In 1841 parallel time, Daphne Harridge becomes suicidal at the thought of losing Bramwell Collins to her sister Catherine. James Forsythe's spirit reveals why he cursed the Collinses in 1680. The ghost of Brutus Collins traps Morgan Collins and Julia Collins in a secret corridor at Collinwood where they find two mummified bodies. After marrying Kendrick Young, Melanie Collins becomes insane. Morgan is enraged to learn Catherine and Bramwell have resumed their romance. As crises continue to surround them, the Collins family struggle to survive, hoping to finally end the curse that has brought so much sorrow.

At Collinwood in the year 1840, Daphne Harridge describes strange occurances she viewed in a room in the east wing. Dr. Julia Hoffman warns her to beware of the parallel time band she has witnessed. Barnabas begs Angelique to use her powers to help save Quentin Collins from being executed for practicing witchcraft. Using Quentin's stairway through time, Barnabas, Julia and Professor Stokes travel back to the future. In 1841 parallel time, Bramwell Collins insists that Catherine Harridge marry him instead of Morgan Collins. As the family's oldest son, Morgan is placed in charge of the dreaded lottery, where a family member is selected to endure a night in a mysterious, cursed room. Kendrick Young discovers that his lover Melanie Collins suffers from a split personality. Carrie Stokes reveals that Morgan is possessed by James Forsythe, the man who placed the curse on the Collinses in 1680. The ghost of Brutus Collins taunts Morgan.

When Trask discovers Quentin's laboratory and proclaims that he will be placed on trial for witchcraft, Barnabas and Desmond Collins vow to save Quentin from being executed. Gabriel Collins plots to revise his father Daniel's will so that he and Edith Collins will inherit the entire family fortune. After reading servant Ben Stokes' diary from 1795, Lamar Trask finds the skeleton of his father bricked up in the Old House basement and plans revenge on Barnabas. Angelique realizes that Barnabas' claims that Gerard Stiles is possessed by Judah Zachery may be true.

In the year 1995, Barnabas and Dr. Julia Hoffman wonder what has happened to the Collins family when they find the Collinwood estate abandoned and in ruins. They learn that both Carolyn Stoddard and Quentin Collins have gone insane. Barnabas witnesses the ghost of Gerard Stiles and realizes that Julia is under the spirit's power. In 1970, the ghost of Daphne Harridge, a nineteenth century governess, appears to Quentin, who locates her diary in the west wing. Barnabas is stunned when he meets astrologist Sebastian Shaw's assistant, Roxanne Drew, who is identical to the Roxanne that Barnabas knew in parallel time. When Julia discovers fang marks on Maggie Evans' neck, Barnabas assures her that he is not responsible and vows to find the vampire who attacked Maggie. David Collins and Hallie Stokes become possessed by the spirits of Tad Collins and Carrie Collins from 1840.

In the strange and terrifying world of parallel time in 1970, Angelique, the witch, torments Maggie Collins with her supernatural powers, causing Maggie to fear her husband, Quentin. Angelique reveals her true identity to her father, Timothy Stokes and warns housekeeper Julia Hoffman that the vampire Barnabas Collins must be destroyed. After his secret is discovered, John Yaeger, the evil alter-ego of scientist Cyrus Longworth, kidnaps Maggie. Barnabas returns to Collinwood in regular time to notify Dr. Julia Hoffman of the perils occuring in parallel time, where her counterpart discovers Barnabas' coffin and makes plans to stake him. Longing to discover who she is, Barnabas initiates an experiment to revive the body of the mysterious and beautiful Roxanne Drew, with whom he becomes obsessed. After a series of deaths, a crazed Stokes sets fire to Collinwood.

In 1897, Judith Collins is released from the sanitarium and returns to Collinwood, where Gregory Trask, hoping to seize control of the Collins family wealth, plans her murder. Secretly cured of his vampirism, Barnabas Collins reappears, claiming to be a British relative. Mesmerized by Josette's portrait, Lady Kitty Hampshire begins to believe she is Barnabas' lost love. In 1897, Quentin Collins and servant Beth Chavez attempt to rescue Barnabas Collins from a chained coffin, where he has been imprisoned by the devious Count Petofi. King Johnny Romano arrives in Collinsport with a gang of gypsies, seeking revenge against Magda for stealing the magical hand of Petofi. Artist Charles Delaware Tate sees Amanda Harris and is stunned to recognize her as the fantasy woman he has painted. Quentin is shocked to discover from a possessed Jamison Collins that Quentin's ghost is menacing Collinwood in the 20th century. Charity Trask discovers Barnabas' hiding place. Hoping to save Barnabas, Julia Hoffman conducts an I Ching ceremony in 1969 and is transported back in time to 1897.

In the year 1897, Magda, the gypsy, hopes to end the werewolf curse she placed on Quentin Collins. She reveals to Barnabas Collins that she has gained possession of the magical hand of Count Petofi. After the Collins family learns that Barnabas is a vampire, he is forced into hiding. Scheming to gain control of the Collins wealth, Gregory Trask and Evan Hanley plot to drive matriarch Judith Collins insane by taunting her with the spirit of Minerva Trask.
Quentin enlists the aid of Angelique, the witch, to retrieve Petofi's hand from a mysterious stranger named Aristede. Once his identity is discovered, Petofi brings artist Charles Delaware Tate to Collinsport to paint a portrait of Quentin. During a full moon, Charity Trask witnesses the painting take on the appearance of the werewolf.
When Jamison Collins is possessed with the spirit of the dying David Collins from 1969, Count Petofi promises to save the boy if Barnabas reveals how to travel to the future.

When Barnabas sees a mysterious photograph with a silhouette of Victoria Winters hanging from the gallows, he decides he must go back in time to the year 1796 to save her. He attempts to change the course of history, but his efforts are threatened with the appearance of Angelique, the witch. Once again, Barnabas finds himself a victim of the vampire curse.
In 1969, Carolyn Stoddard invites Chris Jennings to move into the caretaker’s cottage on the Collinwood estate, unaware that he is harboring a dark and deadly secret. Julia Hoffman discovers wound marks on Barnabas' neck and realizes he is under the control of a vampire. Roger Collins attempts to prevent Victoria Winters from marrying Jeff Clark after he dreams the wedding will bring doom to her. After Chris Jennings arrives in Collinsport to investigate the death of his brother, a werewolf attacks a barmaid at the Blue Whale tavern. Victoria warns Nicholas Blair to keep away from Maggie after learning he has proposed marriage. In 1795, after being convicted of witchcraft, Victoria Winters waits to be hung at the gallows. Peter Bradford vows they'll be together again someday. In 1968, Victoria reappears during a seance at Collinwood and Barnabas fears that she has learned his secret from her time in the past. After he and Victoria are hospitalized following a car accident, Barnabas is stunned when the mysterious Dr. Lang enables him to see daylight for the first time in nearly 200 years. The doctor offers Barnabas hope that he may be permanently cured through a bizarre experiment. Roger Collins surprises the family by introducing his new wife Cassandra, whom Barnabas realizes is actually Angelique, the witch who cursed him as a vampire in 1795.

Using her supernatural powers, Angelique tricks Josette Collins into going to Widows' Hill, where Josette sees a horrifying vision of her future should she become Barnabas' bride.
