Summary: An anonymous caller reveals to Mac that a young man is buried at a football stadium and, after uncovering the body, the evidence leads the CSIs once again to the Tanglewood gang.After being unable to jail the leader of the Tanglewood Boys a year before, Mac makes it his mission to succeed this time, but he's shocked when the evidence puts Danny at the crime scene instead. Meanwhile, when a banker is found dead in a hotel room, the team questions the man who runs a high-priced escort service claiming to offer their clientele the ultimate date experience at a very steep cost. Also, as Stella and Frankie's relationship progresses, she is surprised to receive a special sculpture from him.

MISTAKES/GOOFS

FACT: The cigarette butt found in the ground simply wouldn't have existed. It takes, on average, five years for a butt to biodegrade, and a maximum of about 12 years. As this was under a football pitch, that is watered very often, five years would be most likely.

Guest star Larry Romano (Louie Messer) and series regular Carmine Giovinazzo (Det. Danny Messer) are cousins in real life. (They play brothers in the show.)
The title is a reference to the film 'Run Silent, Run Deep (1958)', an allegory to Moby Dick, which stars Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster.
Allusion to Jimmy Hoffa, after Mac gets a call from a Tanglewood member, confessing to a murder, saying the body was buried in the field of Giants Stadium. One conspiracy theory as to what happened to Jimmy Hoffa, President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (1957-1971), a union, who disappeared in 1975 just before he met with two members of the Mafia, is that he was murdered and buried in the end zone of Giants Stadium in New Jersey.
